Smaug the dragon questions

Smaug, living at the center and root of Lonely Mountain, is quite literally represented as a Mountain of Rage.  His rage is responsible for:
Desolation                    Hating all living things          Destroying all fertility
Creating Deserts      Leaving nothing alive             Burning the world
Creating terror          Spreading darkness wherever he goes
What might cause such immense rage?  Does this kind of rage exist only in dragons?  If not, where else might it exist?  What might we learn from Smaug's existence?
1. Smaug is so angry because as a dragon they like to have treasure and he believes the treasure was rightfully his also dragons are very greedy and he is always worried people are trying to steal his treasure so he is always angry.
2. First No i don't think it would be just in dragons I think this kind of rage  could exist in anyone if they became corrupt and evil and also controlled by their greed for example Thorin could have become very similar is he had a greater opportunity.
3.I think from his existence we can learn there will always be an opposing evil. Also we can learn that greed will never lead to good thing as it just leads to isolation and overall misery. As well it teaches us that it is better to share and do the right thing.

Found poem I made.

They walked in single file
Dimness to either side
Green glimmer and Occasionally a slip of light.
Later on in the night
Dead silence fell
And spiders got near
Now Thorin,Dori,Nori,Ori,Oin,Gloin,Fili,Kili,Bombur,Bifur,Bofur and even Bilbo
Were all now in fear.

Riddle

Often I am hidden or unseen
I am not distinct in colour or sound
I hang around in questions and sentences
I'm here to trick and confuse people
What am I?

The stone

1. In turning trolls to stone as light shines on them, what might Tolkien be communicating about trolls and about light? He is saying the troll are dark and bad creatures also he is saying it literally as they will turn to stone is the dawn of sunlight touches them at all. As well he is saying light is very powerful and in the hobbit's case is is a good power that will rid of bad creatures.

2.If stones strewn throughout the country side  were really trolls “turned inward” or other incarcerations, would we kick them, throw them, skip them, crush them? why? why not?
I think still think we be able to do whatever we want with the rocks as we probably would know with was a rock or a troll and if it meant the trolls were dead than it would not be too big of deal for us. However if they were just trapped then we probably have to leave them be and show respect to them.

3.how would Simic's Answer question 2?
I think Simic would want the rocks to be left alone and shown respect, also he describes rocks with very person mean and making have more of a “face”.

4. What does Simic's mean by “Go inside a stone” What is the central theme of the poem?
I think the central theme of the poem is hiding or like a masked superhero doing good but being unknown.

5.How would Tolkien respond to Simic’s poem?
I think Tolkien would enjoy the poem and i think he would enjoy the poem as it is similar to the idea of his trolls be turned into rocked that you could go inside a rock or be one and give it human like traits.

The journey

A.It would not take much the opportunity and having nothing holding us back
I think, also a desire would be easy to get the desire for some as once they try it it is very fun, movement is very similar and as the others the hardest part is often starting, for risk-taking it is often harder from most to people to have a sense to do it as often the risk is not worth the reward however once is get the "reward" it will be much easier to take those risks.

B.Firstly I'd take Tapanga and James(best friend) from then any of my other good friends. I would take them because they are the people I would enjoy being around most also Tapanga would miss me too much and James would get in to much trouble otherwise.

C.I don't think I would have changed to much other than I would have much more knowledge also I would probably be home-sick a bit.

D. I would probably instil a greater sense of how much we have at home and how good our lives actually are. Also it would build a lot of character and make you want to travel more

E. I think I would be flying and would be travelling around the world to go skiing and hiking and exploring the different parts of the world, different parts of nature.

F. Hero I would define hero as someone who has done a great deed for someone or something whilst enduring a great trouble. The character quality they need would be a risk-taker and have no fear or care for themselves (at least not too much).

G. The connections I see are are that to do either of these you will need to have a sense of desire for travelling and movement and not be afraid to take risks or move out of your comfort zone what ever that may be.

The questions of Ironing.

  1. Describe the narrator using as much detail as you can.
  2. In your opinion, is the narrator speaking to someone in particular, or to herself?  Give evidence from the story to support your answer.
  3. What things are important to the narrator?
  4. What people/events/things are responsible for Emily’s failings?
  5. The image of the iron is repeated numerous times, telling the reader that it is an important symbol.  List all of the things that you think it MIGHT be a symbol for, and choose ONE that you think is most likely, and explain it in detail. (Note - marks will be given for evidence of thought, not necessarily for being right)
1.I would describe the narrator as a person who is kind of dark also someone who has been feeling a lot of anger lately and has been having a rough time or life. Also I think it would be a female as I feel she tries to portray herself with this story.
2.I think she is speaking of herself as she always uses I and shows so much frustration in the story which would be much easier to do if it was your own frustration.
3.I think she wants to get her message across and also that she wants some respect for everything she has done.
4.Most of the problems she seems to have don't necessarily come from her but more so from her family and the disconnection she is feeling.
5.It might symbol repetition as it shows that the character has to do very repetitious things also it can be a way she lets her anger out and way for her to pass time. I think the main one would be the release of stress and anger she uses it for or it symbols anger itself.

Dramatic monologue

Dramatic monologue

I Sit here listening to clock bead by as I wait for the next bell to ring. What am I doing here at school what will I become, I don't know. Why do I bother taking all these classes and working hard to become what? something I'm unsure of?

Why do i bother? This all seems like such a waste of time the more I sit and wait the worse it drags on, at moment it seems like time itself stops. I look around the room all of my fellow class mate look so engaged and ready to learn. How? or maybe why? there must be something I'm clearly missing.
Maybe there is something more to school a deeper purpose that I have been eluding, Maybe just maybe it not about what I want to be or should become possibly it go further than that. I now feel different I feel mesmerized as I gaze upon the other students , That's it! that's what I want I want to be engaged I want to enjoy this day to day process. but I'm still puzzled of how? Whoa! I look up at the clock nearly 40 minutes has went by, Wow! if time went by like this while I worked school would be awesome anyway the bell about to ring and the greater purpose I was drawing towards was that school Isn't about pinpointing your job or future its about opening the horizon and the plethora of jobs or opportunities that you will build while in school.

Dayone free writing

From viewing the picture i feel like she would not be happyu to see me i think that she would probably be surprised and upset. I feel like i would be barging in on her and would not know or have seen her before. Also she wants me to know that she is friendly and that they will not be any harm for either counterparts. Also I feel like i would be in a older senario and that i would be on a run or  flee from some great toruble obviously. So as i barg in iam not meaning to cause a trouble but more so look for protection or a "safehouse" to hide in because im one BA dude, clearly i must have just robbed a ...bank so me and my friend that were just outside the door at all times were waiting to see if it was safe. with me stands chris, rhett and dylan or "Dolan' were all have thommy guns, suits and large cigars in our mouths we also have large bags of money. We look cool. Then it hit us we have to hide! chris yells at the woman we move inside, she stops ironing. then we proceed to hang out  there and then watch some black and white television. On the televison is the news it speaks of four really cool looking men robbing a bank whilst eats was taking bullets like a shooting range, clearly there lives were coming a close.
